Season of Bloom: Flowers in early summer and then holds its attractive seed heads through much of the summer.

Height: about 1 m, less in dry soils

Growing Conditions: Moist soil with organic matter; partial shade

Benefits to Wildlife: Food plant for caterpillars of Northern Pearly Eye butterflies

Seed Germination: C(30) – cold, moist stratification for 20 to 30 days.

Remarks: One of the best ornamental grasses for light shade
