Mountain Pussytoes

Mountain Pussytoes in the Rock Garden.

Botanical Name: Antennaria dioica

Height: The leaves are about 2 cm high, the flowers rise to about 10 cm.

Season of Bloom: Mid to late spring, later than Field Pussytoes.

Wildlife Benefits: American Lady butterflies will happily lay on Mountain Pussytoes, but you will want to relocate the caterpillars onto a larger species, at least until your Mountain Pussyoes has grown into a vigorous mat.

Remarks: Small enough for larger troughs, vigorous enough for a rock garden, and very attractive with its pinkish flowers.

Similar Species: Field Pussytoes, Plantain-leaved Pussytoes
