Bottle Gentian growing on the edge of the Ottawa River in Bristol Township, Quebec.

Botanical Name: Gentiana andrewsii

Height: about 45 cm

Season of bloom: September

Growing Conditions: Full sun to light shade. Moist, calcareous soil.

Wildlife benefits: Only large bumblebees are strong enough to enter the flower and pollinate it.

Remarks: Beautiful blue for the late summer garden.
